We found we were paying $45 a month for cable TV and only watching one or two television shows per week. The DVD boxed sets came out almost as soon as our season finales aired, and we wanted to buy them. Finally we just dumped the cable and went ahead with the DVD purchases. We went from paying around $560 a year on cable, to less than a hundred on DVD purchases.
